About the event

Bogs are not the stinky, soggy, dark swamps of legend, but are rather critically important wetlands in Minnesota and beyond. The Sax-Zim Bog Important Bird Area is made up of 147,000 acres of diverse habitats including lowland conifer forest, mixed forest, agricultural lands, lakes, rivers, and alder swamps. Join us on a field trip to see some of the plants, animals, and bugs that call bogs home, all the while getting a better understanding of this misunderstood and critically important wetland ecosystem.

Field Trip Leader: Clinton Dexter-Nienhaus, Head Naturalist Friends of Sax-Zim Bog

When: Wednesday, June 16th 9am-1pm

**Registration will be limited to 5 vehicles**

Please note: COVID-19 protocols will be adhered to during field trips including wearing masks, social distancing between households, and capacity limits. Attendees will travel in their own vehicles from site to site. Please stay home if you have any symptoms.
