About the event

This event will offer participants an in-depth examination of some local topics related to water. Exhibit text can only help illuminate the histories and present-day stories of water so far, but a dedicated speaking event can help draw out these topics and create discussion with our communities. It will also give participants an opportunity to ask questions and receive answers from experts in these fields.

Some of the topics to be covered during this speaker series include: water and labor history in the Fur Trade Era, nibi walks, water as it relates to the 1854 Treaty, and local invasive species. These topics span hundreds of years and a variety of disciplines to provide well-rounded perspectives.
